Dragon-i has an eye on the future
It's been a year since Dragon-i was taken over by toddlers, but the Baby Loves Disco event returns to the Central nightspot on Sunday afternoon when it will open its bar and terrace for kids and parents to party together. There will be marshmallows, mascots, face painting, hair braiding and even a mini DJ desk spinning tunes for junior dancers.
Club owner Gilbert Yeung Kei-lung is a staunch supporter - he has rarely missed an event since the family shindigs were launched two years ago. 'You know, this event doesn't make money because people don't drink alcohol when the kids are around and the production cost is higher because we have to set up a childproof environment. The hardest part was having to set aside parking space for the kids' trolleys.' Still, Yeung aims to host the event at least twice a year. 'A lot of the parents are our customers. It's nice to give something back,' he said.
We just hope the folks who were up partying all night on Saturday won't fall asleep on their kids the following day.
