For the better part of the noughties, the global electronic music movement had its spotlight trained firmly on Berlin and its standout labels such as Bpitch Control, Kompakt and Get Physical.

Most of these labels specialised in a particularly Teutonic hybrid of minimal techno and house music, but Get Physical stood out by drawing a connection between disco and electro-influenced house, and smiling in the face of the cold, clinical music being made all around them.

The label was formed by Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer - best known as the production duo M.A.N.D.Y. - and their friends Booka Shade and DJ T, and they called it Get Physical to reflect their shared love of disco and with a nod to Olivia Newton-John.

M.A.N.D.Y. became the label's first big act, mixing the first Get Physical label compilation in 2004 and collaborating with fellow duo Booka Shade on the anthemic track Body Language, which was voted Ibiza's track of the season and DJ Magazine's track of the year for 2005.

Since then, the duo have been travelling the globe on what seems to be a neverending tour as well as becoming much sought-after as remixers, putting their distinctive, melodic stamp on tracks by artists as diverse as the Knife, Sugababes, Royksopp and the Klaxons.
