WasabiSabi in Times Square is opening an 18-litre bottle of sake - the largest to be served in Hong Kong - at a special dinner next Tuesday. The Taiko daiginjo gold leaf sake and four other sakes will be matched with a five-course dinner that includes a sashimi course (minced fatty tuna with avocado, botan prawn with cod roe mayonnaise and fresh smoked salmon with onion sauce); baked pomfret with mushrooms, French beans and garlic soy oil; soft braised Japanese pork loin with fish stock and sansho miso; and shiratama dango cake with yuzu and sweet soy sauce. Cafe Marco at the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving seafood paella on the dinner buffet until next Wednesday. The buffet also has chilled seafood, sushi, sashimi, salads and desserts. The buffet is HK$358 plus 10 per cent for adults (HK$208 for children and senior citizens) Sunday to Thursday, and HK$388 for adults (HK$228 for children and senior citizens) on Friday, Saturday and the eve and day of public holidays.
