It's worth charging more for flights so that passengers get decent meals

It is about time that something was done with regard to the in-flight meals that are served by airlines and the costs involved.

Every day, more strain in placed on the airline's meal planning department, and the caterers themselves, to reduce costs, cut meal volumes and cut choices.

The catering departments have to literally split peas to make a dish look complete, meet the costs and save money.

Why is it that this is always the area that has to be put under pressure?

Why not save in other areas or charge in other areas so that the meal is not the afterthought?
