An 11-year-old girl uploaded naked pictures of her and her 16-year-old boyfriend to her blog, landing the boy in court yesterday. Tony Yam Hoi-fu, now 17, was arrested after the pictures aroused attention at the girl's school, catching the eye of a social worker, who alerted police. 
Yam pleaded guilty in the District Court to unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.
Deputy Judge Ada Yim Shun-yee called for a probation officer's report, a rehabilitation centre report, a training centre report and a detention centre report on Yam and adjourned sentencing to June 28.
The court heard that Yam and the girl were playing computer games at Yam's home one day in August last year. The girl later went into Yam's room and the two started kissing. The girl then asked Yam to have sex with  her and took off  his clothes. Yam took off the girl's clothes and had sex with her, using a condom.
The girl then took pictures of her and Yam with their naked backs facing the camera and uploaded five of the pictures to her blog.
Talk about the pictures circulated in the girl's school and  drew the attention of a counsellor, who then interviewed the girl. The girl admitted having sex with her boyfriend. Police were alerted, and Yam was arrested on October 14.
In mitigation, defence lawyer Philip Li Wai-Ip  said Yam, who was 16 at the time of the offence, was immature and young and was unable to resist the temptation of sex initiated by the girl, now 12.
Yam and the girl had been dating for a year when they had sex, Li said.
The case was a less serious one because the girl was willing, no payment was involved and a condom was used, Li said.
He submitted a reference letter written by a social worker to the court  that described Yam as a simple-minded person who was vulnerable and easily influenced by others. He was of good character and remorseful for the incident, the letter said.
Yam said in a letter that he committed the act because he was curious about sex and promised not to reoffend.  His father, who was present in court yesterday, submitted a letter blaming himself for failing to educate Yam sufficiently.
