Festival fans rejoice. Rockit, the home-grown outdoor music shindig that ended in 2006 with organisers citing bureaucratic hurdles, is back. Only this time it's in Macau - and indoors.
The event, first held in Victoria Park in 2003, was the first attempt to create an international festival on the grass and was largely a success.
This time it will be held at the Cotai Arena, in the Venetian Macao, on August 7-8. Overseas acts include 80s synth-pop star Gary Numan, former Underworld member Darren Emerson and techno maestros
UNKLE Live.
Perhaps the most anticipated band for Rockit regulars will be Japanese rockers Electric Eel Shock (pictured), whose drummer was once arrested in Hong Kong for his trademark act of stripping naked on stage.
That wasn't the only hassle organiser Nimal Jayawardena faced. There were restrictions such as having to keep the volume down and closing the main stage before 10pm.
