Whatever your interest, there's a Young Post workshop to suit you. Here's a list of all the fun things we've got planned so far, and there could be more still to come. To find out details as they become confirmed, and sign up, visit the Young Post website yp.scmp.com and click the 'Summer Fun' banner. 1 The first workshop took place yesterday. Designer Kanchan Panjabi, the founder of ladies' fashion label Kanchan Couture, gave a demonstration of silk-screen and iron-on printing. Workshop participants then designed and printed their own funky T-shirts. 2 Super Star Restaurant has arranged a dim sum-making class. A chef will take participants through all the stages required to make this tasty treat, from shaping the dough to creating edible dim sum art. 3 There's more food involved if you sign up for Coffee with the Editor. Susan Ramsay, the Young Post editor, will be attending a workshop hosted by Lavazza Coffee, and you can join her. Susan and the rest of the participants will learn something about the history of coffee and discover different sorts of coffee beans. A Lavazza coffee master will then explain how to make an aromatic cup of joe. 4 This should be particularly of interest to guys who have graduated, or will in the next couple of years, and have job or university interviews on the horizon. You may think skincare is just for girls, but even guys should pay attention to grooming if they want to stay looking sharp. In August, renowned skincare brand Clinique is holding a class to introduce basic men's skincare routines. Experienced educators will share tips on how to keep your skin clear, fresh-looking and hopefully spot-free. 5 Also next month, girls can learn how to make their own pair of fun false lashes thanks to famous Japanese lash brand Shu Uemura. Creative make-up artists from the brand will teach participants how to bling up a pair of lashes that will add glamour to any outfit. Participants will also learn how to do their eye make-up to match their false lashes. 6 If you've ever dreamed of being in control of a jet, the Flight Experience workshop is right up your alley. Staff from the flight simulation company will explain to participants how a commercial aircraft works, and talk about things a pilot needs to consider, such as safety and aviation rules. Participants will then get into the 'cockpit' and 'fly' the plane. You may not actually leave the ground, but by the time you're finished, you're bound to be walking on air. 7 If your ideal method of travel is less lofty, the Hong Kong Catamaran Club will run a sailing workshop. The workshop will be hosted by an experienced instructor from the American Sailing Association who will introduce basic sailing facts and techniques. Participants will sail from Aberdeen to Po Toi Island and back. 8 Get in touch with nature by spending an afternoon at the Hong Kong Wetland Park with our Green Living columnist. Cameron Dueck, who led a sailing expedition through North America's Northwest Passage, will explain the role nature plays in our city lives. Participants will go on a summer adventure tour, before getting the chance to voice their views on the environment. 9 Sports lovers won't want to miss a horseback-riding exploration workshop hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Participants will visit the riding school and meet some jockeys.
