Simon Roberts wants to cheer you up with a positive poster. The Australian businessman who co-founded Positive Poster competition last year in Melbourne with graphic designer friend Nick Hallam is bringing the project to Hong Kong this year.

'We've grown up with so many advertisements telling us to 'buy this' and 'believe this'. It's very rare you get to see just positive messages out there that are not promoting anything,' said Roberts.

'We want to create an outlet for designers to share their positive messages to the rest of the world.'

The Melburnian, who spent his six years of his childhood in Hong Kong, launched the competition last Thursday at Philia Home lounge in Central. The competition is open for entries until September 10.

Contestants need to upload their designs under this year's theme 'Glass Half Full' onto www.positiveposters.com.

The winner will have 3,500 copies of his or her own design printed and pasted up on the streets of Melbourne.
