The size of Hong Kong's labour force grew by about 8,300 people last month to more than 3.66 million, the biggest since February, but the unemployment rate stayed unchanged at 4.6 per cent as jobs were created, according to government data. There were about 8,800 more people employed last month. Jobs created were mainly in the construction, social work and finance sectors while unemployment worsened in the postal and courier, manufacturing and education industries. The 4.6-per cent unemployment rate was in line with consensus estimates by economists. The underemployment rate was also unchanged at 2 per cent. The number of people unable to find more than 35 hours of work a week fell by about 1,000.
