Becoming a policewoman may never have crossed Joey Yung Cho-yee's mind, but the singer and actress was nevertheless guest of honour on Tuesday afternoon for television programme Police Magazine at Harbour City mall, where she unveiled their weekly mascot.

'I don't think I'm too disciplined,' said the 30-year-old, pondering the idea of life in the force. 'Rather than giving orders, I'm better at being told what to do.'

Although Yung, who played a police rookie in the 2005 film Crazy N' the City, posed happily with the life-sized superhero mascot, she doesn't fancy a policeman boyfriend either.

'Maybe I've seen too many television series and films about policemen. They always have to catch bad guys in the middle of the night. As much as I respect their work, I don't want a boyfriend whose life is always at risk.'

Yung admitted to being a long-time fan of Police Magazine, which informs the public about the latest crime trends.

'I remember watching an episode when I was young about human remains found dumped in cardboard boxes in Sham Shui Po,' she said. 'I still get goose bumps every time I'm in the neighbourhood.'
