Welcome to the late, late show ... spin twins Nervo stretch the boundaries of punctuality and some
If convention dictates one should arrive at a party fashionably late, then DJ/remixers Nervo twins are just too cool for school. Olivia and Miriam Nervo were billed to spin some house and dance-pop at the club M1NT at 10pm last Friday, but neither hide nor hair of the pair was to seen until well past midnight. The blonde twins - whose claim to fame includes collaborations with international names such as Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Kelly Rowland - eventually showed up just before 1am.
According to M1NT marketing executive Patricia Leong, it's not unusual for DJs to perform much later than the advertised time. 'They have to wait for the proper crowd to get in,' she said.
Club director Andrew Lewis said the twins played to a packed house, but did not stay long because they were dashing off to a gig in Tokyo. But the clubbers had no problem with the late, late show and feedback for the set was good, he said.
So for those keeping track of clubbing trends, showing up three hours late and leaving early is the way to go.
