Public support for Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen last week was slightly higher than two weeks earlier, according to a poll by the University of Hong Kong's public opinion programme. In its latest random telephone survey conducted between Monday and Wednesday last week, 35 per cent of the 1,007 respondents said they supported Tsang as the chief executive, three percentage points up from the previous survey between July 5 and 8. Half said they did not support him, two percentage points down from the previous poll. Despite the improvement, pollster Dr Robert Chung Ting-yiu said Tsang's support level was 'still grave'.
