Antipodean cinema will shine this autumn at two dedicated showcases, with highlights from New Zealand including films about a lesbian music duo (The Topp Twins) and Maori tribal conflicts (Taua - War Party). Australian films on show will include Rachel Perkins' screen adaptation of the 'Aboriginal musical theatre' Bran Nue Dae and the 1982 Kirk Douglas vehicle The Man from Snowy River. Alfred Hitchcock Retrospective

Twenty of the British director's films will feature in the latest instalment of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's Repertory Cinema series, including the early Blackmail (1929) and Spellbound (1945), plus revered late-career classics such as Vertigo (1958) and a digitally restored Psycho (1960).
