Blogger Angi, of Rice and Wheat (riceandwheat.com), is an intrepid world explorer - at least in her kitchen. As she writes in her blog's About Me section, 'I'm obsessed with what people are eating in exotic, faraway places'.
She originally comes from Hong Kong but lives in San Francisco, California - a great city for someone who loves to try dishes from different cuisines, which she then attempts to recreate at home.
Angi's culinary experiments are wide-ranging: she makes Vietnamese sandwiches with home-made baguettes; Portuguese kale and potato soup; Turkish dumplings; Cantonese steamed fish; Hungarian chicken paprikash with dumplings; Mexican pork and hominy soup (right); Uzbeki beef and black radish stew; and German tree cake. She categorises her recipes by cuisine (American and Italian are especially popular with her), by protein (she likes to experiment with vegetarian dishes) and as starters, baked goods, main courses and brunch dishes.
