Eleven artists and representatives from the city's cultural and creative industries have been appointed to lead a committee to enhance cultural exchange, liaison and co-operation between Hong Kong and Taiwan. Veteran stage artist Fredric Mao Chun-fai, founder and director of Performing Arts Asia as well as deputy chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, has been appointed convenor of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee, set up under the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council. Other appointed members include award-winning director Mabel Cheung Yuen-ting and vocal cultural critic Mathias Woo, executive director of Zuni Icosahedron.
