A fabulous feline look that only the real cats in town can pull off

What's new, pussycat? 'Fabulous Felines' dominated the catwalk at the launch of M.A.C's autumn-winter collection. The cavernous ArtisTree space in Taikoo Place was transformed to recreate the ambience backstage at a fashion show.

Showing off the feline look were models Bianca Bai Hsin-hui (left), Candy Wang Xintian (centre) and Lynn Xiong Dailing as they stalked in minidresses to dance-pop beats courtesy of DJ Franky.

Eight make-up stations flanked the runway, where guests lined up to try on one of three colour palettes: Leopard Lux (brown), Palace Pedigree (blue) and Burmese Beauty (green). Emboldened by the free-flowing cocktails, aspiring cat women pounced on the chairs for a M.A.C makeover. Hong Kong's kittens - and the odd cougar - were out in force, but the party ended after just 11/2 hours. The cat's-eye technique extends the eyeliner up past the corners of the eye and beyond the natural lash line. You may not have to be Vanessa Yeung Tsang or Cara Grogan, who were at the party, to pull off such a look, but it isn't right for everyone. Only a real cat can walk the fine line between Fabulous Feline and Peking Opera purring with pride.
