James Yiu Yeung-lung, Deputy Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force, is to succeed Commandant Arthur Kwok Chi-shun, who will retire in September. Yiu, 55, who is the managing director of a local capital management consultancy firm, is married with two children - one of whom is actress Claire Yiu. He joined the auxiliary force as a Constable in 1976, became Superintendent in 1988 and was promoted to Deputy Commandant in July 2007. The name of the future Deputy Commandant has yet to be announced. The auxiliary force, which supports the regular police force, has about 3,800 trained reserve officers.
