Guests embrace their inner pirates to honour the fun and fearless
Every year, Cosmopolitan celebrates go-getters who embody a certain kind of fun and fearless spirit.
The women's magazine honoured nine Hong Kong celebrities in five categories: 'Big Four' fearless singers Andy Hui Chi-On, Dicky Cheung Wai-kin, William So Wing-hong and Edmond Leung Hon-man; fearless TV personality Charmaine Sheh Sze-man (fourth from left); fearless film personalities Ann Hui On-wah (second from left) and Fiona Sit Hoi-kei (fourth from right); fearless up-and-comer G.E.M. (Gloria Dang Zhi-kei, third from left); and fearless woman of the year Miriam Yeung Chin-wah.
The party was held at the harbourfront Quarterdeck Club, with a nautical Caribbean theme - because, what could possibly be more fun and fearless than pirates? Most of the guests ignored the 'sexy Caribbean' dress code, showing up in regular party attire.
But that didn't stop them from getting themselves photographed with an unsmiling Captain Jack Sparrow. Nor did it keep them from lining up to have their fortunes told, a temporary tattoo inked, or to take part in a beer-sliding game that appeared to be a modified version of shuffleboard.
When asked, none of the mateys at the party knew what any of this had to do with honouring the fun and fearless.
But they seemed to enjoy the fake moustaches and skeleton-themed jewellery picked up at Captain Jack's Grooming Station.
