Korean robbers jailed for money laundering
Two Koreans, who were caught after they robbed a money changer of more than HK$2 million in Macau, were jailed yesterday by the District Court for money laundering.
Park Sunil, 27, a property agent, and Shin Yuksong, 27, unemployed, had pleaded guilty and were each jailed for two years and eight months.
The court heard that on June 4, An Siu-feng received a call from Park Jinsung in Macau saying he wanted to exchange about HK$2 million worth of Korean won.
An then took HK$2.2 million in cash to a hotel room where he met Park Jinsung, Park Sunil and Shin.
There An was tied up and when he tried to struggle, Shin took out a knife and stabbed his left thigh. He was also blindfolded and gagged.
An later freed himself and immediately contacted a friend, Cho Kokheum, who took a helicopter to Hong Kong and waited at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal.
