Two trees listed as old and valuable were felled by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department yesterday. It said an inspection in July found a 16-metre South China honeylocust in Victoria Park had suffered a rapid fungal attack. The other tree, a 12-metre Chinese hackberry in Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village, had failed to respond to two years of treatment for fungal and bacterial problems.
