TVB executives charged in bribery and fraud inquiry
Top TVB executive and showbiz personality Stephen Chan Chi-wan was yesterday charged with corruption and conspiracy to defraud along with his former assistant and another senior executive of the broadcaster.
A string of television stars have been caught up in the case.
The two other defendants are the 51-year-old TVB general manager's former personal assistant, Tseng Pei-kun, 28, director of Idea Empire Advertising and Production Company (IEAP), and Wilson Chan Wing-shuen, 63, head of TVB business development in the marketing and sales division.
Six months after they were arrested, the three were charged after they reported back to the headquarters of the Independent Commission Against Corruption in North Point. They were released on bail.
Chan, who hosted the popular TVB Pay Vision's talk show Be My Guest, faced over a hundred reporters and photographers on his way out of the building at about 4.30pm.
Mobbed by the media, Chan said: 'I know you have a lot of questions, but I will come out again at an appropriate time to answer questions appropriately.'
