A transport worker who killed another worker at Yau Ma Tei wholesale fruit market in July last year received a 10-year jail term yesterday. Chung Hung-chai, 40, was found guilty of manslaughter by provocation for killing Chan Wing-kin. He had offered to plead guilty to manslaughter before trial but this was rejected by the prosecution. He had struck Chan in the chest and abdomen with a machete after a dispute earlier. Mr Justice Michael McMahon said the case was borderline between murder and manslaughter. He said manslaughter by provocation was more serious than other forms of manslaughter.
