Games shame

A little more than a week before the start of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, athletes are pulling out because of health and security concerns, and over the state of unfinished accommodation.

Part of a venue's ceiling fell down, a footbridge to a stadium collapsed and two Taiwanese tourists were injured in a shooting last week. Floods have led to a sharp rise dengue fever. Four athletes, including three world champions, have pulled out while Canada, Britain and New Zealand have delayed sending their teams.
