On September 16, two concerts battled it out for the attention of local otaku.

At the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Hong Kong Island, there was Puffy consisting of J-Pop princesses Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura.

Meanwhile, at the Hongkong International Trade & Exhibition Centre (Hitec) in Kowloon, there was Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Masami Okui and Yoshiki Fukuyama of Jam Project, a group whose members are known for their contributions to anime theme songs.

In the past few years, an increasing number of Japanese anime-related musical acts have performed in Hong Kong but this was the first time the city had seen two huge groups on the same day.

It was a tough decision for the fans. This was Puffy's first concert in Hong Kong for more than a decade. Jam Project, on the other hand, has performed here a couple of times over the past few years. But this was their 10th anniversary concert - the only one being held outside Japan. So Jam Project it was.

To add to the fun, Megumi Nakajima's (right) debut Hong Kong concert will be held on Thursday at Hitec's third-floor auditorium.
