Hong Kong police constable Wong Siu-ping ran the race of her life to claim a top-20 place in yesterday's Berlin Marathon with a personal best of two hours, 53 minutes and one second. Wong finished in 19th place in the race, which was won by Ethiopia's Aberu Kebede in 2:23:58. Wong also claimed first place in the women's veteran 40 age group with her performance. Fellow Hong Kong runner Fan Sui-ping finished four places further back in a time of 2:56:41. The men's race was won by Kenyan Patrick Makau in 2:05:08.
