After six weeks of training, 12 goodwill ambassadors of the Sky100 observation deck strutted their stuff and demonstrated their local knowledge at a graduation ceremony at the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon. More than 1,000 candidates vied for the 12 vacancies and survived an extensive screening process. The observation deck boasts a 360-degree view of Hong Kong from the 100th floor of the ICC and is slated to open in November. The ambassadors made their debut and the winning outfit of the Sky100 uniform design contest was unveiled. Model Gaile Lai (pictured left) and designer Johanna Ho (right) presented a life-sized cardboard cutout of the uniform and the ambassadors modelled the new design. Before the fashion show, Lai gave them pointers on how to work it on the runway. She said she was proud of her proteges' performance. Also in uniform were actor-singers Kevin Cheng Ka-wing, Janice Man Wing-san and Charles Ying Cheong-yau, who joined the ambassadors onstage for a three-way trivia team challenge. Cheng was particularly competitive, jumping in before questions were finished. But in the end, it was a tie between his and Ying's team. With all the celebrity guests, it was difficult to tell who the stars of the day were. But it was all good preparation. 'In the past six weeks, it has felt a bit like being on a train, at the start of an exciting and amazing journey,' ambassador Apple Chan Long-yan said. 'I am looking forward to meeting all of you at Sky100.'
