Jail term extended for man who fled from dock

A defendant who fled from a courtroom dock after being found guilty and sentenced to a year's jail for theft last month was yesterday given an additional four months and 21 days. Training supervisor Yung Chi-kin, 29, admitted assaulting a police officer, escaping from lawful custody, and criminal damage to a courtroom door when he bolted from Kwun Tong Court on September 24. Police caught him after he ran across Kwun Tong Road.

Prostitute robbed

A prostitute was punched and robbed by a knife-wielding man after answering the door at her one-woman brothel in North Point yesterday afternoon. The 43-year-old woman was treated for minor facial injuries at Eastern Hospital. The thief snatched her handbag containing HK$2,500 and 1,500 yuan (HK$1,735).

Man held after window falls

A 65-year-old man was arrested after a window fell from his fourth-floor flat hitting a delivery van parked below in Reclamation Street, Mong Kok, at about 3.30 pm.
