Who started it? Aussie mates and self-confessed fashion addicts Sue-Ann San and Rachel Zeilic founded StyleStalker in 2008. Neither San nor Zeilic had any formal training in fashion design when they left their jobs at a Sydney advertising agency to start the label, which blends designer tailoring with high-street wearability. The duo travels the globe sourcing material and finds inspiration by scouring magazines and blogs and hitting the London and New York party circuits. The brand counts celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry among its fans. Its 200 stockists include Selfridges in London.
Why we love it: the styles are a contemporary mix of feminine glamour and casual streetwear. Soft cotton tees are knotted up, crisscrossed, gathered or tie-dyed. Body- con dresses are given a twist with mesh detailing, piping and lace-ups. Jackets are accentuated with sharp shoulders, draped fabrics and asymmetrical cuts. The result is an edgy yet laid-back collection that is versatile enough to take you from errand running during the day to cocktails at night.
What we'd pick: the Grecian-inspired Wet T-shirt dress (above centre; HK$1,084) or the Surf's-up little black, cutout dress (above right; HK$1,162). For effortless cool, there's the Tentacle skirt (above left; HK$1,006), featuring stretch jersey and nude mesh overlays.
