The youngest son of lawmaker Timothy Fok Tsun-ting was more than three times over the drink-driving limit when he crashed his BMW in July.
In Eastern Court, Jeremy Fok Kai-yan, 21, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and drink-driving. Acting Principal Magistrate Amanda Woodcock yesterday adjourned sentencing to November 3, pending reports.
Fok's mother, former Miss Hong Kong Loletta Chu Ling-ling, held her son's hand as they entered and left the court building.
The court heard that Fok lost control of the car, with the registration 'HK21', while driving along Bonham Road at 6.50am on July 17. He crossed over double white lines and crashed into roadside railings.
Fok said he was trying to park the car, but accidentally put his foot on the accelerator.
A breath test at the scene had a reading of 95 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. A later test at Happy Valley Police Station returned a reading of 71mcg/100ml. The limit is 22mcg/ 100ml.
Fok's lawyer, Lawrence Lok SC, told the court that Fok had drunk with friends in Lan Kwai Fong. The accident happened when he was on his way home to join his father for a trip to the mainland.
