Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life

Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life by Donald Trump and Bill Zanker Harper, HK$120

Who better to think big with than Donald Trump, star of The Apprentice, and Bill Zanker who started The Learning Annex with US$5,000 and turned it into a US$5 million a year company. What's the connection between the two? Well, Zanker used the strategies of Trump to grow the revenue of The Learning Annex 20 times in under three years. Not a bad return, as they say. Think Big is not one person's big boast. It's a book that perhaps, a little surprisingly, sets you thinking about yourself (and others) in terms of what motivates you. Disconcertingly so at times. There are little quizzes in which you get to tick box A, B, C or D and insightful anecdotes - about The Apprentice, for example. And, as you might anticipate, it's written in a chirpy, upbeat way where failure is never really an option. For anyone wanting the lowdown on successful strategies, it's all there: on momentum, how to get it or how to get it back; how and when to get revenge; or why contracts are so important both in business and personal affairs. If those topics make you feel the slightest bit alienated or inadequate, then arguably, it's not the one for you.
