Olivier Doleuze can take much of the credit for Euro Power's first win after turning in an inspired ride to lift the lightly raced three-year-old out of Class Four. Doleuze snagged the gelding back to the rear from barrier 14 before navigating a dream passage between runners with the 133 pound impost to beat Sammy's Falcon by a head. 'From the gate we were forced to go back, and luckily that worked in our favour at the end,' Doleuze said. 'If we had drawn a good gate we might have been much closer and ended up with a worse run. 'He will go well with no weight in the bottom of Class Three and should be hitting the line hard again.' Euro Power had placed twice in two-year-old maiden company in Europe before being imported. He was then transferred from Alex Wong Yu-on to Manfred Man Ka-leung's stables after one outing last season.
