Bodybuilders convicted of bribery

Hong Kong and China Bodybuilding and Fitness Association chairman Simon Chan Siu-man and bodybuilder Chan Yun-to (pictured) were yesterday found guilty in the District Court of bribery. The court ruled that the two had paid US$10,000 to Paul Chua, secretary general of the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, to shorten Chan Yun-to's suspension for failing dope tests, enabling him to take part in the 2006 Doha Games. Judge Susana D'Almada Remedios adjourned sentencing to Tuesday.
