The booming Asian market for environmentally friendly products will be showcased at the fifth edition of Eco Expo Asia from tomorrow until Saturday. The event at AsiaWorld-Expo coincides with the city hosting the C40 Hong Kong Workshop, entitled 'Low Carbon Cities', which focuses on electric vehicles and retrofitting buildings for increased energy efficiency.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council will tomorrow launch the Pacific Bridge Initiative, which aims to foster United States-Hong Kong partnerships tapping into the Asian market. American exhibitors will use the fair as a platform to enter the thriving Asian environmental field. To celebrate the start of the initiative, a cocktail reception will be held tomorrow at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The main themes for this year's exposition are green buildings, electric vehicles, air quality, energy efficiency and energy, waste management and recycling, and eco-friendly products.

Eleven group pavilions represent Foshan, France, Guangdong, Japan, Jiangmen, Kunming, Macau, Shenzhen, Britain, the US and the Hong Kong Environmental Industry Association.
