Mother tells of attack terror
A MOTHER of four told how her husband's secret mistress threw acid over her and her young daughter after congratulating her on the birth of her baby boy.
Cheung Choi-mei, 39, needed at least six major operations after suffering severe chemical burns on her head, face, chest, legs and hands, the High Court heard yesterday.
Her daughter Shuk-yi, four, was treated for second degree burns on her neck after the attack on December 16, 1992.
A statement from Ms Cheung read in court described the attack.
She said Lee Chen Mao-zhen, 31, had invited herself over. As Ms Cheung, who knew nothing of her husband's affair, cooked she noticed Lee had picked up a silver pot.
''She poured the liquid over me. I was alarmed and felt pain and burning on my face. I couldn't see clearly.
