Simon Yam takes a new role - and sends his wife out to work

Actor Simon Yam Tat-wah is kissing goodbye to his on-screen tough-guy role next month. The award-winning actor will play family guy for a month while his model wife QiQi puts bread on the table.

'I decided to take a month off. I won't work on any films until January. I've had to work late recently because of endless filming and haven't spent much time with my family. It's hard,' Yam said.

The loving couple showed up together at a Salvatore Ferragamo menswear collection preview cocktail in Pacific Place on Tuesday. Sporting a boyish jumpsuit and fedora, QiQi genuinely looked like a working mother.

'My wife has become a savvy investor in recent years. So for next month, I'll be taking care of my daughter and going shopping for the family. We will be swapping roles.'

That's sweet. Let's hope he doesn't set the kitchen on fire and recreate an action film set. 'I'm really good at cooking, you know. Maybe I should pick up knitting as well.' What next? We might see Yam auditioning for a role in a sequel to The Pacifier.
