Mother pleads guilty to ill-treating girl, 4

Yang Lihui, 39, who punished her daughter, four, by stripping her naked in public, pleaded guilty in Kwun Tong Court yesterday to ill-treatment of a child. On August 6, the girl was seen in Wan Hon Street, Kwun Tong, naked and with bruises. Acting Principal Magistrate Rickie Chan Kam-cheong rejected Yang's explanation that the girl was naked because she was about to have a shower. 'If I were you, I would be so ashamed,' he said. Sentencing was set for November 19.
