Liberal studies keeps you tuned in
I have been studying NSS liberal studies for more than a year. I think it's an interesting subject that not only broadens my horizons but also lets me look at a problem from different angles.
I especially enjoy the topic of modern Chinese history. Previously I learned about China only from history lessons and news on TV. Frankly, I did not know much about my motherland. Now I am beginning to get a better understanding.
Liberal Studies challenges you to keep track of current events by reading newspapers and watching news programmes on TV every day. Unlike in several other subjects, there are no model answers in Liberal Studies. This makes it hard sometimes to study for school tests and exams in this subject.
I believe that other NSS students may similarly find Liberal Studies a challenge. My advice to them is to share their learning strategies with friends and classmates. They and teachers are always useful sources of help and advice.
