Five Kwun Tong road racers sent to jail

The five illegal road racers who crashed into a 'human roadblock' in Kwun Tong last year were jailed yesterday. District Court Judge Kevin Browne jailed Cheung Hing-wah, 27, Ip Ping-kwai, 37, and Li Hung-yip, 26, for a year for dangerous driving. Wong Man-chau, 29, and Tang Wai-kwong, 28, were jailed for 15 months because they escaped after hitting the roadblock by driving against the flow of traffic. Tang must serve an extra month for elbowing a police officer in the chest during his arrest. All were disqualified from driving for three years.
