CLERICAL Medical, the international arm of UK-based Clerical Medical Investment Group, is planning to add a Latin American equity fund to its $3.13 billion Universe umbrella fund.

The fund, which is pending approval by the Hong Kong regulators, will invest mainly in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.

It will be managed by US fund managers Batterymarch Financial Management.
