Walk along any main street in Guangzhou and you will find a colourful kiosk with young people in uniform smiling happily at you.
These kiosks belong to the 16th Asian Games City Volunteer Service, whose members provide help and assistance to visitors during the event. Some are middle school and college students; others come from all walks of life.
There are more than 500 service kiosks in Guangzhou, each decorated in the style of traditional Xiguan mansions that are unique to the city.
The volunteers are on duty throughout the Games, which started on Friday and run until the end of the month.
Christine Xie, head of the kiosk on the well-known Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, said 30 volunteers would be available from 9am to 5.30pm.
'We will give directions to travellers, provide translation services to foreign tourists, provide basic information on the Games, and help if there's an emergency,' she said.
