Danish watch brand Skagen is making a departure from its minimalist style and moving into the world of bold colours for its 2011 spring-summer collection. Its Hong Kong team held an exclusive preview at Anastassia's Art House and Red Square Gallery in Happy Valley. 'People often only see the end result, not the process,' Anita Jensen (pictured, second from right), Skagen's commercial director for Asia, said, indicating the brand's new steel-leather series in five vibrant colours for women. 'We wanted to somehow show the inspiration for our designs - which are the colours of paradise this season.' Skagen's global chief executive Steen Albrechtslund (pictured, second from left) was in town for the event. His fellow countryman, and royal, Prince Joachim is in town next week to deliver 100 Christmas trees from his estate to the Pacific Place mall. Albrechtslund and Jensen said the royal family owned quite a few Skagen watches - some of which were customised at their request. 'We haven't solicited the family to wear our watches, and have no campaigns around that fact that they do,' Albrechtslund said.
