SUN Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is involved in three large development projects in Guangzhou, with a total investment of $4 billion.
The company said its subsidiary, Sun Hung Kai Development (China) Co, had secured agreement with its partners for joint development of the projects.
They are the reconstruction of Nan Fang Da Sha - a department store complex - Guangzhou New Town Plaza and a large commercial complex.
The Guangzhou New Town Plaza, which is to be connected to the future metro station, was a redevelopment project of the old Guangzhou Clock Factory, said Jack So, managing director of SHK Development.
Two office towers and five residential blocks have been planned on a 49,000-sq-metre site out of the gross area of 280,000 sq metres. Plans are also afoot to feature high-class shopping and entertainment facilities.
The Nan Fang project, which will be built in two phases, includes the Nan Fang Building and an adjacent lot covering an area of 13,000 sq metres. Six levels of mezzanine and two office towers have been planned for the project.
