Cartoon creator finds a little child's play is the key to success
The secret to watching the hit animated mainland television series Pleasant Goat and Big Bad Wolf is to let your mind wander and imagine being a two-year-old child.
Aimed at the young, the tales of a wolf's bumbling attempts to hunt goats had also captured adults, said creator Jonathan So Wing-lok.
The series is broadcast on more than 70 television stations around China - including TVB in Hong Kong.
The show's target audience was set at anyone aged two years or above, So said. 'When you are three years old, you start thinking about things. Two years old is enough.
'When people are relaxed, they will watch funny cartoons without thinking too much about them,' he said.
The cartoon takes its theme from the universal struggle between two animals. Of course, the wolf will never catch the goat no matter how hard he tries. The storyline was similar to the Tom and Jerry cat and mouse cartoons that began in 1940, So said.
