'You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave,' Don Henley sang in Hotel California 1977, and for Henley (pictured) and fellow Eagles Glen Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmit, so it has proven.
Although Frey announced at the beginning of their 1994 Hell Freezes Over reunion tour 'We never broke up, we just took a 14 year vacation', the band signed off with the liner notes of the 1980 Eagles Live album with the words 'Thank you and goodnight'.
However, they keep coming back for more, and their Long Road Out of Eden World Tour will pass through Hong Kong on March 18. Their live sets now acknowledge that each member has had some success at a solo career - expect to hear Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way, Henley's The Boys of Summer and a smattering of others alongside tracks from Long Road and the biggest hits from Take It Easy.
Their live shows have generally been well received, and sometimes an old favourite is significantly rearranged, but mostly the audience can expect them to sound exactly like the records - but louder.
