CSWCSS claim volleyball title

The To Kwa Wan Sports Centre was a sea of red and green as Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School (CSWCSS) faced off against La Salle College in the final of the Division One Inter-school Grade A Boys' Volleyball Competition last Saturday.

In the end, the supporters carrying the green balloon sticks were dancing for joy, with CSWCSS being crowned champions after a hard-fought match.

CSWCSS got off to a fast start and led 4-0 before winning the first game 25-16.

In the second game, La Salle players picked up their pace and scored with fast breaks to lead 7-3. But CSWCSS battled back to level the score 20-20. Thereafter, they used an effective combination of tough defence and rapid attacks to win the game, and the title, 25-22.

For CSWCSS captain Wong Ho-kiu and Jeffery Ho Kwan-yiu, it was their first-ever inter-school gold medal.

The two Form Seven students fell to the ground after the winning shot as their supporters rushed forward to celebrate a memorable victory.

'I twisted my ankle the day before but that didn't affect my performance,' said Ho-kiu.
