CocoRosie

It's time to get your freak on with a couple of mustachioed sisters. CocoRosie, the queens of 'freak folk' - a genre they helped pioneer along with Devendra Banhart and Antony and the Johnsons - are coming to Hitec in Kowloon Bay on January 21, and if you care about exciting music of any stripe, your presence is required.

American sisters Bianca 'Coco' and Sierra 'Rosie' Casady formed their band during a reunion in Paris after years of separation. They started off as a duo featuring surreal beats and semi-operatic vocal acrobatics - their tunes also variously feature children's toys, synths and a large harp - but in the years since they have added a full band, including a mesmerising beatboxer.

With four acclaimed albums to their name and an international following, the Casadys will bring a high-energy and pretty psychedelic stage show to Hong Kong. Now signed to famed Seattle label SubPop, they are coming to promote their latest release, Grey Oceans.

Expect them to show up in full make-up - possibly in drag and almost definitely with painted-on moustaches.
