The former president of the Public Doctors' Association, Dr Ho Pak-leung, has won a seat on the Medical Council, becoming the first representative from the 2,500-strong union to sit on the powerful watchdog. Dr Choi Kin, president of the Medical Association, won the other seat. Both are to serve three-year terms starting next month. Seats on the council are seen as key positions in the profession.
