A VARIETY of programmes are slated for showing in the first 24 hours of Wharf Cable's Learning Channel, which will start broadcasting at 5 pm today.
The channel will open with a 30-minute coverage of its launch, to be followed by the screening of the first educational programme to more than 55,000 homes across the territory at 5.30 pm.
Look Up, a show about the environment from TV Ontario, will normally be shown at 9.30 am each Monday.
It will be followed by a Cantonese programme on handy hints around the home.
This programme will give viewers a step-by-step guide on how to repair furniture and other household appliances.
At 6.30 pm, an art appreciation class for beginners will be screened.
The Open Learning Institute's programmes will make their debut on Wharf Cable at 7 pm with an introductory course in Cantonese, The Life of an OLI Student.
