I used to love popping by Arrogant Cat in IFC Mall for party clothes but it's suddenly disappeared. Eek! Are there any stores left in Hong Kong?

The Dictator rules: Well, you know what curiosity did to the cat, don't you? Similarly, the unabashedly sexy styling of Arrogant Cat could get you into trouble. But that's what you want, isn't it? We are so well connected, we just got in touch with the head of the London label and got a lightning-quick reply for you. It went something like this: 'Yes, Arrogant Cat closed its IFC Mall store recently. No, there aren't any other stores in Hong Kong at the moment.' Before you begin caterwauling or hissing, though, we're pleased to report that it should be returning soon. Even better, you can order whatever your minxy heart desires via its website, www.arrogantcat.com. Dresses cost from GBP75 (HK$900) to GBP179 and shipping to Hong Kong costs about HK$145. Also, keep an eye out for its sister brand, SO-M-I, named after the founder and creative director, Somi. Of course, you can always get cheap party-girl outfits at costume shops such as Remy Fashion (24 Li Yuen Street West, Central, tel: 2524 8847), where dresses start as low as HK$299. Back to purring for you, then?
Any idea where I can find Redken hair products? They're the only thing that work on my hair. I've tried different hairdressers and even its website, but just get frustrated in the process. Please help.

The Dictator: We were ready to fry you like a bad blow-dry. And then we went through similar steps as you. We guffawed, in fact, at your question and boldly typed in www.redken.com, where our search came to screeching halt. The website asks you to select your country but then doesn't list anywhere in Asia. We then trawled through other websites, chat rooms, blogs and even cold-called a few salons. Nothing. We have to admit, then, that it was pure luck when we stumbled across various Redken products at our favourite nail-polish source, Senda (3 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2832 9422). It carries a variety of Redken shampoos and conditioners (HK$599 to HK$699), including the men's line, in the giant 1,000ml bottles so you won't have to traipse back to this random corner of the island very often. Senda also stocks many of the brand's styling products (HK$299 to HK$399), so you should be looking good (well, better, at least) in no time. Here's a tip: next time you can't find a brand locally, try shopping online. Duh. The website www.strawberrynet.com, which popped up when we did a Google search for Redken, offers an impressive selection of the company's hair-care products.
