If you've been to the cinema recently, chances are you've seen one of the many 3D movies that are all the rage. Now, though, you don't have to go to the movies to enjoy the experience. The Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 makes it possible to capture 3D still images as well as high-definition 3D movies. The 3D capturing system works much like the human eye, with two separate lenses that take images from two different angles. By interlacing the two images into a single file, the resulting images and video imitate how you actually see the world. The W3 is two cameras in one, with two 10-megapixel image sensors, and a dedicated 3D chip that speeds up the image-merging process. The W3 also features a unique 3D monitor with several microscopic concave lenses to produce binocular disparity, allowing you to view 3D images with the naked eye. The problem is when you want to see the images on other displays. Unless you have a 3D-enabled TV, or a dedicated 3D display, you won't get the same effect. What's more, the 3D image and video files - MPO+JPEG for 3D stills, and 3D-AVI for video - might present editing and sharing challenges. In addition to its ability to capture the world in three dimensions, the W3 comes with a 3x optical zoom, which is equivalent to a 35-105mm lens. The FinePix Real 3D W3 costs HK$4,280. Pros: captures images in 3D, dedicated 3D processor, 3D display technology Cons: 3D is difficult to share, need 3D-enabled displays, difficult to edit
